Delivery and Shipping
Free Shipping – Our Approach
You’ve probably noticed that many online retailers advertise “Free Shipping.” The truth is, shipping isn’t free—those costs are simply rolled into the product price. At Shade Perfect, we avoid that kind of smoke-and-mirrors. Instead, we show you the actual shipping charge up front so you know your true final cost.
We believe in honest pricing. That’s why we regularly check competitor pricing to make sure our total out-the-door cost is equal to or better than theirs.
Shade Perfect never tacks on handling fees. As an Arizona-based company, we do collect sales tax on in-state orders, but not for out-of-state shipments. Our checkout system connects directly to UPS real-time rates so you only pay the actual shipping charge—no more, no less.
With “Free Shipping” retailers, costs are built into every single item, which means if you buy more than one product, you’re paying inflated shipping charges over and over. With Shade Perfect, multiple items are combined into one aggregated shipment, saving you money.
Bottom line: Shade Perfect guarantees our final price will beat any competitor’s listed price on the same item. Shop confidently—we’ll stand behind this promise for 30 days after your purchase.
Do I pay shipping on each item?
No. Our system calculates the total combined weight of your order. For example, if you order a 5 lb. umbrella and a 9 lb. chair, you won’t pay two separate shipping fees—you’ll only pay the actual 14 lb. combined rate.
How quickly will my order ship?
We ship Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) via UPS and USPS. Most orders leave our warehouse within two business days after payment is approved. For expedited orders placed by 12:00 PM EST, we ship the same day. Orders placed after noon ship the following business day.
When figuring out transit time, remember that the day of pickup doesn’t count as a shipping day. A package shipped on Monday with 5-day transit will arrive the following Monday.
In rare cases, shipping delays, damages, or lost packages may occur beyond our control. If that happens, we’ll immediately reship your order or issue a full refund. Replacement orders will ship using the same method originally selected.
UPS Note: Their expedited guarantees (Next Day, 2-Day, 3-Day) don’t apply in certain situations—such as oversized umbrellas or events outside their control (weather, accidents). These situations are rare but not covered under our guarantee.
Order Confirmation
Please provide a valid email address when checking out. Once your order is placed, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email. If you don’t see it, contact us so we can make sure your order went through.
Tracking Your Shipment
When your order ships, you’ll receive an email with tracking details, including estimated delivery date. Tracking numbers are sent within 24 hours of shipment.
Reminder: UPS does not count Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays as standard delivery days. For example, a Next Day Air order placed on Friday will be delivered Monday.
When will my order arrive?
Each product page includes a delivery estimate calculator. If an item ships directly from one of our fulfillment partners, please note the additional time listed on that product page (e.g., 1–2 weeks).
Can I use a PO Box?
We require a physical street address for UPS shipments. If you prefer USPS, you may enter a PO Box.
Calculating Shipping Costs
The product and checkout pages feature a shipping calculator so you can see your exact cost before completing your order.
If your cart exceeds 150 lbs., UPS will not generate a rate. In that case, please split your order into two or more smaller orders, or contact us for assistance.

Protecting Your ShadePerfect Canopy from the Elements
Your canopy is the heart of your umbrella — it’s what brings your design, color, and shade to life. With a little care, it will stay vibrant, strong, and beautiful for many seasons to come.
Protecting Your Umbrella Canopy Against the Elements
Sun & UV Protection
-
All ShadePerfect acrylic canopies are made with UV-resistant outdoor fabrics and textiles. The fade-resistant quality of acrylic allows us to warrant these canopies against fading for at least three years and five years for Sunbrella® fabrics.
-
Polyester has no fade-resistant quality and requires an extra level of care and vigilance is retaining color is desired. Using a slipcover is desirable for all materials, more so with polyester.
-
To preserve color depth, rotate your umbrella periodically so the same panels aren’t always facing the afternoon sun.
-
Close the canopy when not in use to limit prolonged UV exposure. Even the most durable fabrics benefit from protection from the environment.
Wind Awareness
-
Fabric stress is one of the biggest causes of premature wear. Never leave your canopy open during winds.
-
Use the tilt function wisely: angled canopies catch more wind; close them completely if breezy conditions pick up.
-
Avoid “inverting” the canopy by letting it flap loosely during gusts — always crank down or secure with the tie strap.
Rain & Moisture
-
The fabric is water-resistant, not waterproof. Always allow the canopy to air-dry fully before closing or storing.
-
If it gets soaked, open it again once the rain passes to let trapped moisture evaporate.
Cleaning Your Umbrella Canopy
Routine care keeps your canopy looking fresh and prevents long-term fading.
Regular Cleaning (Every 2–3 months):
-
Brush off loose dirt and leaves.
-
Mix ¼ cup mild dish soap per gallon of lukewarm water.
-
Using a soft brush or cloth, gently scrub soiled areas.
-
Rinse thoroughly until no soap remains.
-
Air-dry completely before closing.
Deep Cleaning (1–2 Times a Year):
-
Remove the canopy from the frame if possible.
-
Lay it on a clean, flat surface.
-
Use the same mild soap solution, rinse, and allow it to dry in open air.
-
For mildew spots: use 1 cup bleach + ¼ cup soap per gallon of water, testing first in a discreet area.
Avoid: harsh detergents, power washers, fabric softeners, or machine dryers — they can weaken UV coatings and fade color prematurely. Grommets are typically made from plated steel and susceptible to rust. Fully dry any wet canopy immediately.
Preventing Fading of Umbrella Canopy
-
Consider acrylic over polyester. Polyester has no fade resistant capabilities. Its ability to hold pigment varies widely according to seasonal and regional use, and the original color of the canopy. Darker colors show fading faster than lighter colors. Acrylic materials are more expensive than poly but are much less expensive over the long run.
-
Using a slipcover – can seem inconvenient. However, these inexpensive umbrella accessories significantly extend the life and beauty of your new umbrella canopy.
-
Close the canopy when not in use — this alone can extend color life by years.
-
Store in shade or under a breathable protective cover when not in use for long periods.
-
Periodically rinse off airborne pollutants like dust, pollen, or sunscreen residue that can dull fabric over time.
-
Choose gentle cleaners only — the protective UV finish is part of what keeps your canopy rich in color.
Seasonal Storage of Your Umbrella Canopy
When it’s time to take a break for the season:
-
Clean the canopy thoroughly and let it dry completely.
-
Remove from frame if possible—this prevents stretching during long-term storage.
-
Store in a breathable, weather-resistant cover or fabric bag (not plastic).
-
Keep in a cool, dry space away from direct sunlight and humidity.
-
Avoid folding while damp to prevent mildew or odor buildup.
Pro tip: Store the canopy flat or gently rolled—not tightly folded—to prevent creasing in the fabric.
Quick Care Checklist
-
Close canopy when not in use
-
Clean regularly with mild soap and water
-
Dry completely before closing or storing
-
Protect from strong wind and prolonged sun exposure
- Store indoors or under a breathable cover during the off-season
